New England Viper Club of America
Trip Down the Kancamagus Highway
June 27, 1999
Welcome to my scrapbook of photographs from the New England VCA's recent
cruise and poker run down the Kancamagus Highway in northern New Hampshire.
(Click on any photo for a larger version)
We all met at the McDonalds restaurant at Exit 32 off of Route 93.
It must've been the sheer speed of the vehicles, but most everyone arrived quite
early for the 12pm event (I'm not telling who arrived last!
).
These photos were taken just before we left for our cruise/poker run.
We then headed down the Kancamagus Highway to our first picturesque stop overlooking
the beautiful White Mountains.
After a quick rest, we continued down the twisty and scenic highway, which included one 20 MPH
hairpin turn where everybody got to experience some Viper-generated lateral G-force, and stopped at a
nice shady rest area where the trees shared their bounty (read: "seeds") with our Vipers.
Note that my camera seemed quite enamoured with the limited edition Carol Shelby RT/10 CS. I'm not
quite sure why. There were 50 of them built (this is #3, I believe), so you'll typically see them
everywhere.
Our final stop on this beautiful 90° Sunday was at The Old Man In the Mountain; the
state symbol for New Hampshire. While I didn't get any pictures of the Old Man (a rock formation
that when viewed from the side looks like a man's face), I did snap some pictures of some wild
reptiles found in this mountainous region.
If you can't already tell, the GTS is mine.
Well, that's about it from my digital roll of film. If anyone else has any other pictures from the trip
or corrections to my travelogue, please don't hesitate to contact me
and I'll add them to this page.
Thanks for stopping by!
